Here are some photos of when Daisy was with me recently on a trip to Bletchley Park. Milton Keynes

Bletchley Park played a major role in code-breaking in World War2 which shortened the war by 2 years and saved the lives of over 14 million people.
After the war most of the equipment was destroyed and those who worked there had to sign the official secrets act so could tell no-one of their work.
Much of their work was in breaking Hitler's "unbreakable" Enigma code machine, and break it they did, despite there being 159 million million million ways of encrypting it. Alan Turing played a major part in this by designing the Turing Bombe which vastly speeded up decryption.
There were many different types of German Enigma machines. The code for each changed daily.
Daisy was lucky to be allowed to press the keys on one when it was unlocked from the glass case for a demo
Daisy also saw Japanese Enigma machines. The code-breakers not only had to break the codes but had to learn to speak Japanese first. There were particular difficulties with the Japanese code-breaking as they didn't use the same alphabet system as their language is made up of symbols.
There was so much to see at Bletchley Park in several huts. (we missed viewing of the film The Imitation Game (2014) included in price, and further on site , Colossus the first computer ( for a small extra fee). There is also a mansion and a pretty lake.
Daisy with German Army and Air Force Enigma machine ( German navy had a different one- harder to decipher)
Daisy with Typex machine
I have lots more photos of Daisy at Bletchley but will have to add them tomorrow as I can't seem to upload any more today for some reason.
