I'm pleased to say that Daisy arrived safely with me yesterday. I'm afraid she's not going abroad anywhere exotic this time, but I think there's lots to see and do here

Daisy says Happy Chinese New Year to you all!

Daisy has entered into the spirit of the celebrations today by making a Chinese puppet as its the Year of The Monkey this year.



no worries about painting out of the lines Daisy, as it won't matter when stuck on thin card and cut out.

Daisy could make the Monkey puupet dance by using pencils or on a string




and for anyone wanting to make their own Monkey puppet, here are 2 documents (one to colour in,/ one ready painted)you can copy and paste.





Cut Monkey in half at the waist then concertina two pieces of paper for Monkey's middle and attach with glue or sellotape. Add a piece of string or a ribbon for his tail. sellotape one pencil to his hand and one to his leg or add string to his head to make Monkey dance.
Monkey is wearing a red outfit as Chinese people consider that red is a lucky colour.

Today Daisy went into the city centre to have a look at Gloucester Catherdral. Probably most well-known today as the site of filming for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, it is also famous as the place wehre King Henry 111 was crowned and King Edward 11 buried, it has beautiful architecture and stained glass windows

I've been to Gloucester Cathedral and loved it, especially as I am a big Harry Potter fan and recognised the corridors from the films

The Cathedral looks amazing

Daisy had another look around Gloucester- lots of interesting buildings..
Robert Raikes house (now a pub)
The building dates from 1560 and was built as a merchant’s house. Robert Raikes, founder of the Sunday School movement published the Gloucester Journal newspaper there from 1758 and by 1772 all of his family had moved in.


Across the road is Mary de Crypt church where Robert Raikes held one of the first schools



Daisy was eyeing up a meal in Cafe Rene in the lane adjoining Mary de Crypt , but I have something else lined up for the 14th.
