He's a bit up and down at the moment, yesterday tea time I thought I was going to have to run him up to the emergency vets but he perked up after a load of meds but it took a good few hours for the meds to kick in :(

This morning he was quite good and eating greens and herbs, he still won't eat any pellets, although I have managed to get him to eat a couple this week coated in banana :)) I hope he soon starts to eat pellets again. Still awaiting the results of his blood tests on Tuesday for the time being other than him being in stasis I have no idea what is wrong with him :( tried to ring the vet this morning but the practice owner/vet is on a course today, he's been treating him all along for the EC so I want to discuss with him what the plan is. I have added in Metacam to the ranitidine and metoclopramide as he was obviously in pain, need to discuss this with the vet too as the younger vet who saw him on Monday & Tuesday didn't want me to give him metacam in case he has kidney probs but on the other hand I can't have him in pain as he won't eat at all then :(

So at the moment he is eating parsley, cabbage, dandelions, hawthorn, basil and he's had a couple of the Carrot Cruncher treats too, he won't eat pellets, coriander, or banana at the moment I saw him tucking into some hay too this morning :)

Any suggestions for things to tempt him to eat welcome :)

So sorry to hear he's still under the weather :-(

Have you tried these:-

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/ ... abbits-1kg

I feed as a treat in the evening (one lasts about a week).

Also, can you get any dried grass from anywhere? I'd offer to post some too you, but the brand I'm using for Apache at the moment has a light oil coating.

I know when I struggled with Alfred after his surgery, one day he'd eat kale, the next would be no to kale, but spring greens where fine, then he likes broccoli (I must have looked like a supper healthy person at the supermarkets!)

I'll send you some "shire salad" tomorow... that used to perk Coco up when he was off his food. :)

Also try making the pellets "al dente" with some warm water. It makes them smell stronger ( in case the EC is dampening down his sense of smell. We used to give Coco Wagg Bunny Brunch muesli or even loose fruit mix or loose pea mix from pet shops and tiny bits of wholemeal toast...also those parsley donut things you get from pets at home.( yes i know... but it kept him going when he was poorly). Also we would grate his carrot up and finely chop spring greens too ( they smell stronger that way-Coco had snuffles). Another thing we gave Coco was red fruit HIPP baby puree from a jar.

. I guess you will have to syringe feed critical care if you have to... and we often had to with Coco....sometimes once a month he would go off his food for a few days... but we perked him up again by tempting him with all sorts of things. :)

I assume your vet has checked Casper's mouth for tooth spurs or ulcers recently?

I do hope Casper will pick up ...soon fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear that Casper is still unwell, sending lots of vibes from our home for him :)

One of my bridge bunnies, Barney went through a similar thing, we had all sorts of tests done, but never found out what was wrong with him, I found him limp one morning and rushed him to the vets, he didn't eat pellets for about 6 weeks and I had to syringe feed him daily, then one day, he started eating again - bunnies are such strange animals :-\ He did make a full recovery and was with me for years afterwards :)

Thanks Apache I have a P@H near me so I'll have a look to see if they have any of these in to try him with :) yes I know what you mean about the greens at present Casper is chopping and changing his mind about what he will eat on a daily basis!
He won't eat coriander at the moment or spring greens, but he is eating parsley, basil, mint, dandelions and now fresh grass :) some days he'll eat plantain others he won't!

Thank you Sue :ymhug: :ymhug:
I will try his SS pellets with warm water, I have tried them coated with banana and he will eat the odd one or 2 some days, he is into me standing there hand feeding him stuff at the moment, if I walk off and leave him to it (with Daisy in the run) he stops eating anything :(
Yes if he stops eating greens I will syringe feed him baby food & SS pellet dust mixed with water.

Yes he had his teeth and mouth checked on Monday this week, no ulcers or sore places and only very slight spurs which he has always had.

I've had a long chat with the vet on the phone today about him, he's going to chase up the lab results, the plan is to keep going with the metacam, ranitidine, and metoclopramide till we have the results and know anything further, if they don't show anything he will have xrays if he's still not eating properly. Vet thinks it's likely to be the EC back again and if it is he will have to stay on Panacur long term he mentioned having 3 months on and then 1 month off.
Casper has also had a similar thing a couple of years ago and similar to your Barney Sue we never found out what the problem was he just got better, the only thing I could ever put it down to was being cold & lonely as this was before he was bonded with Daisy and was alone. He had blood, xrays and everything and he xrays were referred on to our local small animal specialist and he couldn't find anything either!

Yes I agree they are very strange animals I wish he could talk and tell me what's wrong.

I'll keep you all posted on him :)
