Re: What's happening at Windwhistle Warren October update
October update-
Alice has been very busy as usual and has rehomed many bunnies in the last month.
Nevertheless there are always lots of bunnies available- usually about 80 at the rescue though Alice does do an excellent job of re-homing. Alice also does the bonding for many of those who adopt her bunnies and has done 6 bondings in the last 2weeks!- (I'm sure many of you know how time-consuming bonding is !)
Abigail and Eleanor are a pair of many of the rabbits still waiting for a forever home at Windwhistle Warren.

and if you are able to offer these gorgeous giants a home ( or offer a home to any other bunnies at the rescue) please contact
Alice at Windwhistle Warren-details on website.

Just a couple of the recent rehomings from Windwhistle Warren..
Daisy, the up earred bunny, has finally found true love and a wonderful home.
She has patiently been waiting since February of this year, for the right home.
Glad we sat it out Daisy! Your new mum and dad will give you the best life possible with your Husbun Marble x

A little news for all the people involved in the rescue/rehabilitation/care of the Neath Bunnies,.... Santi and Araminta went off to their forever home today!
We have already had an update to say they have settled well and i think you will all have to agree they look pretty relaxed!

Re: What's happening at Windwhistle Warren pics 27th Oct
Recently Alice has been trying to sort out 54 rabbits in a garden in Gloucester. Here is her update.....
With the help of ARC and The Blue Cross, they are down to 24 rabbits now. But, the situation there was chilling to say the least.
More and more rabbits are coming in sick and needing extra vet help.
We rescued two rabbits and six guinea pigs from the hutches above. They had been living in that squalor for 2 years. A guinea pig sanctuary took on two very sad little pigs for us, one died in his foster home, but, he was warm and pain free.
This is Daphne, one of the two rabbits. She needed a dental, and we have now discovered she has coccidiosis. the Pledge a Pound Christmas donation to Windwhistle Warren will go towards Daphne's treatment. She has suffered so much, but, is safe now, and will not be let down anymore.
Thank you xx

from Windwhistle Warren...
We all hoped 2015 would be a better year in the rescue but its been such a busy few months. We have so many babies at the moment including these six baby bunnies who were born before Christmas, so they are all a bit bigger now! Mummy bunny Rhew (a REW) came to Windwhistle very scared and defensive. She was from an owl sanctuary and had been used for breeding so her babies could be fed to the owls.
She is a fantastic mum to her babies and of course very protective of them for fear of somebody snatching them away. Luckily for Rhew she landed on her paws at Windwhistle, after much love, care and some cuddles, she has really changed. She still watches over her babies but is happy to have some fuss and is always there to say hello, she's no longer showing any aggressive behaviour. For her to trust us all so soon is wonderful and shows how incredible these animals are. Her babies all came out black and grey despite her being a REW, they all look like they have lion head in them as they all have cute quiffs. These beautiful babies all need forever homes and luckily for Rhew Alice is going to keep one of the babies to stay with her so she has a companion. They too will need wonderful forever homes.

from Alice......
These 3 beautiful does came from a farm near Bath. The mother, grey and white, Felicity, gave birth to 5 babies.
There were other rabbits there, all living in squalid hutches with green water bottles.
When the girls first came to Windwhistle, it was rare to see them. They were so timid, they just ran whenever they saw anyone. Felicity can still be a little timid but Esther and Lady Jane enjoy nose rubs and strokes very much, in fact they will push to the front for fuss! With time Felicity is coming around.
They loved being in a grass run in the good weather, but they used to stay in a huddle when we were around. Hopefully the fact they now feel safer means they will be able to enjoy the better weather this year.
We estimate Felicity to be a late 2013 doe, her babies are April/may 14. They are all vaccinated and neutered and very healthy.
We want the girls to stay as a trio, they are a very happy little group. They love being outdoors and will need a shed set up with an attached run if re-homed outdoors.
These girls really are beautiful, everyone who sees them instantly comments how gorgeous they are.
They deserve a special home with someone able to give them time to coax their personalities to emerge more.
They will be an utter joy and I'm sure the love they receive will turn them around into happy more confident rabbits, which would be an added bonus!
If there's any serious enquires for these girls please email the Windwhistle email address on our website http://www.windwhistlewarren.org.uk and please share this around to find these girls the perfect forever home! Thank you.

A special appeal from Alice.......
Hello dear supporters, things are very busy at the moment and so Windwhistle will be looking for some more regular volunteers and also ad hoc help in the near future.
We have many different things that we would love help with, for example: cleaning out, transport runs, fixing hutches/runs, rehoming enquiries, taking photos of the animals and web-based support to name but a few.
Many of the things that volunteers do aren't particularly fun or pretty but they're so helpful and essential to the continuation of the rescue!
If you think you would have time to help please email windwhistlewarren@gmail.com and we will get back to you with more information in due course.
Thank you x
