Sending lots of vibes for Crunchie, you should be so proud that you've got him through this, like you say Dom, it doesn't matter if he has a few scars, he's here and fighting which is what counts x

OMG I am sat in tears - overwhelemed with the support on here.

When I postd there wdere no replies and I assumed there would be no more after a certain point but logged on today and seen all this and am sat here in tears.

Good news this morning is that he is breating through his nose - which is great as it means some of the swelling has gone down in his nose.
Theres alot more blood than mucus now which is a good sign. Just praying everything goes ok.

I am such a squeamish person and hate blood, puss, anythng sore...but when something happens - you dont have a choice. I just hope that removing everything will help his little face recover. Im hoping through all my psts everywhere it'll be a log I can then go back to - retype and use as both awareness of myxi, importance of vaccinations - and how much a bun can fight. How much the support from RR and PaP have helped xxx

I burst into tears when i saw him - he shocked me even though the lovely vet rang me to warn me.

It looks worse than it is........I keep repeating his words

Warning Picture Below is not for the faint hearted.
His face is so so tiny and hairless Theyve clipped around all the bumps, and cleaned all the decaying skin off. The vet said as a result he was able to see that it is superficial and perhaps wasnt as bad as what he thought :S

I have to bathe him with Hibiscrub twice daily and steroid cream on his face - even the thought is making me cringe as I dont want to hurt him! And the usual baytril and metacam..I just hope he gets better I just want my baby back

Oh Dom, I could cry for you both Your poor, brave wee soldier - I know he looks bad, but I am sure he must feel better than he did. I'm sure in a few days he'll feel different again as he's face starts to heal.

Dom, you know, of all the abuse case photos Ive seen on the web, helping to promote better care etc, I've never cried once. I've just cried!

Aww bless him Dom and you for helping him get through this, sometimes they have to look worse before they get better A lot of us have had bunnies with abscessess and you think the gaping hole will never heal, but it does. Keep being positive and you'll both come through this:)

My sweetie! I bet he is still a lovely ickle one even after all this! Always was!

Dom there are positives to this, its not as bad as originally thought! thats a good thing, and its allowed the vet to get a good look at his condition, and to plan for his recovery, its just a case of keeping his infection at bay and pain under control so he can eat well and gain his strength.

Is his nose ok? photo isn't very clear, just looks to have lost quite a bit of it in that photo.
