Rose and Martha

Sadly we have recently lost both our piggies
Martha passed suddenly in March - came out to eat her breakfast, and when we went to clean them out a couple of hours later she had gone - lying by the side of the remains of the breakfast salad She had been looking old, and was over 5, but very sad to see her go
Rose moved into the living room with us for company, and was doing fine, but over the May bank holiday weekend she was taken ill. She was in a lot of discomfort, so we rushed her to the vets - by the time we got there she'd had a bleed in one eye as wasn't doing well - at 5 1/2 we decided it wasn't fair to subject her to a lot of poking around treatment - the vet thought there were several issues which might have been building without symptoms for a while, but that it would be a very hard battle for her, even if she was much younger, so sadly we decided the kindest thing was to let her go
It's very quiet without our old girls - and the fridge is looking rather empty without a whole shelf being taken over by piggies greens.
