Regretfully their tests have come back that they are EC Positive and the adoption has fallen through :( The good news at least is that the adoptee is willing to look at other pairs so somebody is going to a new home. What absolutely rotten luck :(

Have you had titre tests done? (forgive me if I'm saying what you already know. :ymblushing: ) ..but Titre tests done 2 weeks or so apart will give a better indication of whether or not they really do have EC. Bunnies can be EC positive on a single test because they have come into contact and have built up antibodies, though I know that unless the initial test is a very high positive reading EC is often difficult for vets to diagnose.

However I do understand why some people may be scared off at any possibility of EC (especially if they have other rabbits) because it isn't easy to manage :( ( we once had a bunny with EC.. given Panacur treatment of course).
Its good news that the person is going to adopt another pair but such a shame for Jellybean + Blinky. :ymsigh:

Very sad news.

Poor little Blinky went downhill very quickly and has sadly passed away. We think it was very rapid kidney failure.

Jellybean is ok at the moment and we're still looking for a new home for her, someone who understands EC.

How terribly sad that Blinky passed away without ever finding a forever home, :( :( :(
though I know you looked after him at the rescue :ymhug: and must feel his loss.
Glad jellybean is Ok with the EC at present, and hope she continues that way.

Jellybean found a lovely new partner named Bramley. She sadly passed away just before Christmas from kidney failure.

I'm sad to hear that Jellybean passed away but glad she had the company of a new partner before that.
RIP Jellybean
