Pledge a Pound

I know this is mainly a rabbit and guinea pig forum, but we take in other species too, so I thought I would tell you about our new gerbils.
They belonged to a 6 year old, who no longer wanted them because she was too busy for them..
anyway, they arrived at the weekend, and the dad of the girl said that this was their 5th cage as they kept chewing out. I looked at the cage and there as a huge hole in it. I also noticed one had a head tilt and I questioned him about this. First he said he had been like that since they got him, then he said it happened after they escaped from their cage and he fell off the sofa. The other gerbil has an injured tail from where the 6 year old 'got a bit rough with him'.

They are sweet boys and will be checked over by our vet this week.

I do hope the gerbils have now recovered and have found a new home?
