Christmas Parcel/Shoe Box Appeal 2024

Post by Foofy »

As the Christmas Parcel/shoe box appeal has been such a huge success in previous years, thanks to our supporters kind & generous donations :D We've decided to run it again this year.

This is where we ask people to donate suitable rabbit or guinea pig items before Christmas and we collect them all up and make up a parcel of goodies for the Rescues that Pledge a Pound supports. The Parcels will be sent out early December so the Rescues will receive them in time for Christmas.

Basically it will run the same as previous years you can either take a look at our Amazon wish list, here is the link
https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls ... _go_nav_hz
If you purchase an item/s from the Amazon wishlist it will be sent directly to me.

Or you can collect up several items and send them to me by the end of November, in a shoebox style parcel similar to the photo shown below. If you wish to do this please send me a PM to request my address. Places like The Range sell very reasonable dried herbs, treats and willow toys suitable for rabbits and guinea pigs.

Or if you prefer you can purchase item/s from another online retailer, and have them sent directly to me, to save you posting them on, obviously if you wish to do this you will also need to PM me for my address, most online retailers will offer free postage if you spend over a certain amount, which of course would be even better for you :) if you don't have to pay any postage costs.
Here are the delivery costs of a few online retailers:-
Bunny Bistro - free delivery on orders over £19.99
Natures Own Pets - free delivery on orders over £19.95
Burgess Pet Care - Free delivery on orders over £25.00
The Hay Experts - Free delivery on orders over £39.00
Hoppy Pets - Free delivery on orders over £45.00

Don't forget whichever online retailer you decide to buy your donation/s from if you go through Easyfundraising first Pledge a Pound will also get a donation as a %age of your purchase, this is free for you and us, here's the link http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/
Amazon are on Easyfundraising.

If you would like to see suitable type items you can take a look at our Amazon wish list. The donations must be suitable for either rabbits or guinea pigs or both. This year I am asking for small light items, nothing heavy or bulky in size due to postage costs. NO heavy bags of food, hay bales of any size, litter trays, large tunnels, etc. Items like toys, treats, dried herbs, fleece blankets, medical items such as Panacur, Critical Care/recovery food, Fibreplex, Biolapis, etc. would be ideal.

This year we are also asking for monetary donations as well. So if you don't know what to buy from the wishlist or online retailers, or just prefer to send us a donation instead that's fine. We will purchase items online that we are short of, we would also like to be able to purchase some supermarket vouchers to go in the parcels, so that the Rescues can buy fresh veggies for the rabbits & guinea pigs. If you would like to send a donation by Paypal the address is pledgeapound@hotmail.co.uk with a message to say 'Christmas Wishlist donation' as a friends and family payment please, so no fees are deducted by Paypal. If you prefer to send a bank transfer please message for the details.

The rabbits and guinea pigs at our Rescues will really appreciate an extra toy or a few treats this Christmas :)

To ensure there is plenty of time to make up the parcels and ensure the Rescues receive them before Christmas please make sure your parcel will arrive on or before Friday 6th December. The parcels are being made up and sent out by courier on 9th December.

If anyone has any questions please reply to this post, or send me a PM.

Thank you :D

We are off to a great start with our Christmas Appeal thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far :x

Still plenty of time left to donate, there a few different ways you can do this. We have an Amazon wishlist set up, so you can purchase items this way and they will be sent direct to us, here is the link
https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls ... _go_nav_hz

Or you can purchase your own choice of suitable items for rabbits and/or guinea pigs and then send it on to us. Please ask for the address.

Or you can send us a money donation by Paypal or bank transfer. Please ask for the payment details. We will then use your donation to purchase items. We are also hoping to be able to give the Rescues we support a supermarket gift card again this year, so they can buy fresh greens or supplies needed for their rabbits & guinea pigs.

If you are buying items from our Amazon wishlist or another online retailer please consider going through the Easyfundraising website first and then Pledge a Pound will get a donation at NO cost to you, here's the link to their website it's quick, easy and free to register
