Puzzlers

Post by sdf76 »

You have 2 jugs- one is a 3 pint jug and one is a 5 pint jug. You have access to unlimited water...How can you measure exactly 4 pints? ;)

anyone got any others?

I like puzzles like that :-)

fill the 5 pint jug, pour into the 3 pint jug, which leaves you with 2 pints, empty 3 pint jug and fill with the 2 pints, then fill the 5 pint jug again, top up the 3 pint jug (which uses a pint) and voila 4 pints :)

I used to like the Professor Layton games for nintendo DS, they where full of that type of puzzles. Not touched that for ages since I got the iPad.

If anyone has any good recommendations for similar type games for iPad - please let me know :)

A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me £50, but if I cannot, I will pay you £50."
The boy looked around and saw no scale, so he agreed, thinking no matter what the man writes he will just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man £50. How did the man win the bet?
