Post by Foofy »

As we have now announced the winner of the Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the month for December, Penelope from Marias Animal Shelter, see her story by clicking on the link below,

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8017

We are now opening up this thread for entries for the January Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.

All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good ;) ), you have until midnight on 31st December to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.

Only one entry per Rescue please.

Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.

The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of January.

The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. The prize for January will be 2 sachets of recovery food, 1 packet of fenugreek crunchies, 1 tube of Panacur, and 1 willow spiral.

Baby Blue Bee Bunnies would like to enter the gorgeous Berani. She arrived at the rescue having been deliberately abandoned. We have named her Berani which means brave, and that she certainly is. 💞 Immediately on arrival she had her survival guard firmly up, then she went into protective mode . She was extremely hormonal and doing a lot of pacing, grunting and constant nest building with more fur she continued to pull out. It was thought she may be have had babies before coming into our care but our vets felt she had aborted through stress and fear. 😥

When she arrived she was extremely underweight, however she has not stopped eating since she arrived and is undergoing medical care and has had a full clinical exam. She wasn't too happy with her cuddly teddy so that's been thrown out (by her 😅) but she loves digging in her dig tray. On being gifted a beautiful snuffle mat, she was a little perplexed but soon worked it out. She is truly a special girl and after everything she's been through deserves a wonderful home. We hope you will continue to follow this sweet girls journey. 💙🐇🙏
