viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8012&p=65947#p65947

We are now opening up this thread for entries for the December Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.

All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good ;) ), you have until midnight on 30th November to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.

Only one entry per Rescue please.

Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.

The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of December.

The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. The prize for December will be 2 sachets of recovery food, 1 packet of fenugreek crunchies, 1 tube of Panacur, and 1 willow spiral.

THIS ENTRY IS ON BEHALF OF MARIAS ANIMAL SHELTER

Penelope is only 1 years old, but it looks like she is going to need dental work for the rest of her life. After having 1 dental operation when Penelope first came in, we were hoping it would be the only one needed. Unfortunately she returned to the vets again yesterday. As well as having her top incisors removed they also took out 1 of her molars. Poor girl, she has such an amazing character. 😔

Beloved Rabbits would like to nominate Nina for December's rescue rabbit of the month. This poor girl was surrendered to us recently due to complex care needs after suddenly developing a bad head tilt and needing intensive vet care for EC and a middle ear infection. Her family did their best to care for her but had to make the difficult decision to give her up, and upon entering the rescue it was clear just how severe her head tilt was (definitely one of the worst we have seen!). After more treatment and lots of TLC in her foster home, we are delighted that Nina has finally been signed off by the vet and we are all so pleased with how much progress she has made! She is a lot more stable and now only has a slight (permanent) tilt, however it doesn't seem to affect her getting about and she is a happy girl who loves nothing more than being fussed over.

Thank you very much. Penelope is doing well at present. We are very lucky that she copes very well with her operations and recovers quickly. :)
