We are now opening up this thread for entries for the October Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.

All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good ;) ), you have until midnight on 30th September to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.

Only one entry per Rescue please.

Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.

The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of October.

The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. The prize for September will be 2 sachets of recovery food, 1 packet of fenugreek crunchies, 1 tube of Panacur, and 1 willow spiral.

Baby Blue Bee Bunnies would like to nominate Blossom, such a sweet girl with a really heartbreaking story. 💔💔

Blossom is a darling girl who was part of a big welfare case we took in during 2019, the balcony buns. Sadly she has had to be returned to us and is very unwell. Blossom arrived back to us with congealed faeces around her rear end which had fused her tail to her back, this had to be cut off and this is where we discovered how much agony she was in.

Her tail is broken and her skin was severely infected, inflamed and swollen around her bottom and genitals. She had swelling in her abdomen and bladder. She has a severe infection and case of bladder sludge and will need surgery to remove this and flush her bladder out. She is now on pain relief and antibiotics to help before surgery and her skin is being cleaned and creamed daily to soothe the skin. It may be that she loses her tail, this has really broken our hearts.

We are all praying for her full recovery.🙏🙏

This month Beloved Rabbits would like to nominate Sally for rescue rabbit of the month. This beautiful girl entered the rescue a couple of weeks ago with her two bonded buddies due to their owner's increased commitments, but shortly after we had to make the difficult decision to separate her from the group to avoid accidental pregnancy as none of the rabbits were neutered. However, we soon found out that she must have already been pregnant since as soon as she was separated she had a litter of 4 kits! She's a fantastic wee mum and babies are all healthy and happy, and we hope to find loving forever homes for them all once they are ready for adoption.
