As we have now announced the winner of the Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the month for July, Jilly from Binky Buns, see her story by clicking on the link below,

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7992

We are now opening up this thread for entries for the August Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.

All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good ;) ), you have until midnight on 31st July to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.

Only one entry per Rescue please.

Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.

The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of August.

The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. The prize for August is 1 tube of Panacur, 1 sachet of Recovery Food, 1 packet of Fenugreek Crunchies, 1 packet of Excel Nature Snacks and 1 willow spiral as below photo.

THIS ENTRY IS ON BEHALF OF HONEYBUNNIES

Honeybunnies would like to enter Chigwell into the Guinea Pig of the month for August. He is 4 years old and was handed in to a cat rescue! He arrived with us a bit thin in places due to lack of muscle tone and with mites,
Pictures show him just after arrival having just had his mite treatment applied, he is a lovely easy to handle piggy and we are hoping he will home easily once his little extra friends have gone!

THIS ENTRY IS ON BEHALF OF BARC

BARC would like to enter Shakespeare for the Rescue Rabbit of the month for August.

He came to us as an unwanted pet. He had been bought for children, who had mishandled him, including picking him up by his neck.

Then because he became a biter they no longer wanted him.

Yes he bites, but he is also a very lovable boy who enjoys being stroked by and cuddles when in the mood.
The biting is learned behaviour and is difficult to break.

Beloved Rabbits would like to nominate Bun-Stoppable for August's rescue rabbit of the month. She entered the rescue after we were made aware that she was being kept in poor conditions and neglected, and she'd also recently had a litter of kits. Thankfully her owner agreed to surrender them to the rescue and the kits were healthy and old enough to be separated from her, so they have been moved to foster care while we give mum some much needed TLC. Upon arrival, we noticed that she is very thin with balding fur in some areas, but has a swollen abdomen so we are monitoring her for signs of another litter arriving. She's only a year old herself, so once we get this beautiful girl back to full health we will be looking to find her the forever home she deserves after her rough start.
