Apologies for not announcing the winner of the Rescue Rabbit of the month for December yet, bit delayed this month due to holidays.
But we are now opening up this thread for entries for the January Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.
All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good ), you have until midnight on 31st December to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.
Only one entry per Rescue please.
Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.
The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of January.
The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. The prize for January will be announced soon.
If anyone needs help uploading photos to the forum please let me know.
Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month January 2020
Re: Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month January 2020
I would like to nominate Holly and Ivy at RSPCA Walsall, they are 2 baby lionhead girls who were removed from a house by an inspector. She had actually gone to see a out a dog but the bunnies were in a hamster cage in the corner of the room, no bedding, no food and no water. They came to us in a horrendous state. It will be a long time before they are well enough for rehoming.

Re: Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month January 2020
Windwhistle's entry is little Ettie. She is 3 years old and she came into rescue because her brother died, and the children in the family were not really interested in her. Unfortunately she has herpes in her eyes. They are very sore, and, because her incisors have slightly rotated, her eyes constantly run too. We hope it will clear up but the problem is, it can recurr, and be passed to a partner bunny. She is such a sweet bun and are worry is rehoming her.

All 7 had to have twice weekly dips and then daily sponges on affected areas. We are still treating them but i think, they are all nearly recovered. We know there are others like this waiting to come in but we are full of guineas at the shelter, so cannot take any more yet.
