Post by Foofy »

As we have now announced the winner of the Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the month for October - Emma from Windwhistle Warren, see her story by clicking on the link below.

https://www.pledgeapound.net/forum/view ... f=4&t=7809

We are now opening up this thread for entries for the November Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.

All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good ;) ), you have until midnight on 31st October (~~) (~~) to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.

Only one entry per Rescue please.

Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.

The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of November.

The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. The prize for November will be announced shortly.

If anyone needs help uploading photos to the forum please let me know.

They arrived in rescue in February and are still here waiting for a home :(
They are not keen on beign handled but have improved, they also like to rearrange everything and keep getting overlooked.
They would love to be Rabbits of the month as may give them a boost!

We would like to enter Jamie for the Rescue Rabbit of the month for November.

Jamie is 11 years old and suffers from epilepsy. Jamie was diagnosed with epilepsy 9 years ago. For a while he was on daily medication but the stress of administering him triggered more fits. Medication was therefore stopped. He has recently been diagnosed with severe arthritis in both hips. He can't be given the usual medication, and so is now on a herbal supplement. Jamie had a massive seizure 2 months ago and he has never fully recovered. He is monitored closely by the staff at the centre and the vet. Jamie has been at the centre for 9 + years.

Baby Blue Bee Bunnies would like to nominate Brodie.
Brodie has had a very tough time of it and was surrendered to his vets in very poor health before coming to the rescue.
He will require ongoing treatment for the rest of his life however is such a sweet boy and has overcame enormous challenges.
In addition to the issues with his tear ducts and the infection that got out of control, he previously had a leg break that didn't receive vet care.
Despite all of this he is a fighter and a lovely natured bun. As you can see he is coming on leaps and bounds.
