I would like to nominate Hector, he is RSPCA Walsall's longest stay bunny. We don't have any photos when he first arrived in our care as he was taken into private boarding whilst his previous owner was taken to court. We know from the report at least 2 of his litter were already dead, and still in the hutch with him and the rest of his siblings. Hector and his 4 siblings were rescued when they were approximately 4-5 months old. They were all extremely thin and severely neglected. Hector came to us at around 7-8months of age and has been looking for his forever home ever since.

This is what his foster mom has to say about him
Meet Hector. Hector is an adorable chinchilla grey bunny who arrived in RSPCA care via an inspector, he was in an awful state when he arrived, however he has now put on a considerable amount of weight and his fur is silky soft. Hector is around 12 months of age and is a very friendly bunny who will happily take treats from your hand, he will happily sit for a fuss once he get to know you. Hector could live as house bunny or outdoors, he is litter trained. Hector has been health checked by a vet, fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. We are looking to rehome Hector with a neutered female rabbit for company.

I don't know how to add a photo but he can be seen here:

We would like to nominate our new sanctuary resident Carlos.

Carlos came to us earlier this week after being handed into Jacqui Paterson's Vets by the RSPCA. He had a badly broken back leg which has had to be amputated. It had been broken for some time as his front leg has bent due to how he had been walking.

He is quite a character; making himself at home and showing the other rabbits and Fliss who is boss despite his small size! He is approximately 12-18 months old and fully grown too but is no bigger than a small teddy bear.

He’s not letting the fact that he’s a 2 weeks post leg amputation and a week post castration hold him back. He is a little pocket rocket zooming across the garage floor!

Windwhistle warren would like to dominate Rosebud for July.
Rosebud came to us a few months ago, as a boarder. Her owner brought her in with her husbun and another bunny she wanted to bond with them. When her owner came to collect them and we explained that the bond hadn't worked so she decided to split Rosebud up from her husbun, chosing the ‘cuter younger’ rabbit, breaking her bond with her husbun. It was heart breaking, as she bounced up to her carry case only for her to be pushed away. So as you can understand she became very depressed. She was very overweight, and her skin has stretched over her genital area, where it traps poo. We took her to our vets and she was put on sulfatrim. Unfortunately she became very poorly, which we believed was caused by the sulfatrim. We then returned to vets as an emergency, and was assured she was not in any pain. We believe her ‘distress’ is down to the stress from picking her up, cleaning her etc. She is frightened. She is having metanium applied to her genital area, and her metacam. She has also been on nutracalm, and last week she had a procedure for a nip and tuck. She is on the road to recovery and we have promised Rosebud that she will have the best home possible after all this.

David and eta were born at the rescue and have lived with us for nearly 7 years, in that time they’ve only had one viewing :(
They’re lovely gentle buns who enjoy a fuss when you get to know them

well done Rosebud! :) so sad frustrating when people don't realise when rabbits are taken away from their bonded partner it's like taking your husband or wife away suddenly never to see them again. :(
I do hope she finds a new forever partner when she recovers.
