As we have now announced the winner of the Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the month for March - Moo the rabbit from Marias Animal Shelter

We are now opening up this thread for entries for the April Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month.

All our Rescues are welcome to enter, even if you have won before. Your entry must include the animal/s story and at least 1 photo (but more is good ;) ), you have until midnight on 31st March to get your entries in here. Entries can only be accepted from the Rescues/Sanctuaries that Pledge a Pound supports, and must be placed as a reply to this thread.

Only one entry per Rescue please.

Your entry can be a single rabbit or guinea pig, or it can be a pair or group that live together.

The winner will be chosen by the Pledge a Pound Team at the beginning of April.

The winner will receive a prize of items to be sent to the Rescue such as Panacur, Fibreplex, critical care, etc and similar things that all rabbit/guinea pig Rescues use/need. This months prize is to be announced ;)

Hello everyone,

Please meet our elderbun couple Bernard and Trudie, aka B&T. They are currently 11 years young and our brother and sister pair.

Bernard and Trudie have found their home at Binky Buns not once, but twice. When they came home a second time, a decision was made to ensure that they had wonderful retirement years. They currently reside at house buns at one of our founder's houses.

Although they both have some health problems, namely Bernard's cognitive dysfunction and Trudie's recent stroke, they both love nothing more than creating mischief and plotting with their cat brofurs and sistfurs. As a team, we are determined to provide for all of their needs, even down to their love of a furry blanket to lie on.

B&T, we love you both always ... You both matter and are important @};-

P.s. Whilst we do not, under any circumstances, advocate dressing up any animal, it's a wonder what a photo app can do for Halloween! 8-x

Cookie came into Windwhistle, as unfortunately her owners were going abroad to live, so were unable to keep their bunnies. She was originally bought from P@H with another doe but as they fought so much they had to live separate lives. We have tried bonding her with a buck looking for a hunbun but it wasn't successful, we hope she will find the right bun. She is 3 1/2 and such a sweet girl and sooo cute!!

Dandy came in with another guinea. The person who brought him in had rescued him and another guinea pig from a neighbour. The person could see into her neighbours house and had witnessed the 2 guineas fighting on numerous occasions. Luckily when the person explained the problem to her neighbour, the neighbour said that she could have both pigs because the children had lost interest in them. #:-s

We'd like to nominate Giggs and her sister Scholes this month, the bunnies have been with us a while now and really struggled to settle in. thankfully they've blossomed into gorgeous confident girls who love to play outside. Sadly Scholes has a soft palate issue which although it doesn't require medical treatment it has put people off adopting them

We would like to nominate our 3 legged girl Hope. Hope came to us in October 2017 after she had lost her partner. Hope was hit by a car when she was 6 months old. She was lucky found by a vet who amputated her badly damaged rear leg. She was then re-homed with her bunny friend until he passed away and her parents decided against getting another rabbit but thought it was cruel to have her alone. Hope is now 7 and a half and enjoying life in the colony. She doesn’t let the fact that she’s missing leg get in the way and can’t half move when she wants too!
