Lost my best friend Smokey today

Smokey ,Mr Smokey .Smoke
Had a bit of drooling last night which is unlike him.
He is a big hay eater and has never been to the vets apart for
his jabs.
This morning he seemed ok ate his food and had 10 mins in the garden.
But i rang the vet Judith Brown a proper bunny vet.
She said bring him. She had a look in his mouth and said there is something
i dont like there .And said i will take a further look there and then.
1 hour later she rang to say he had a very bad tumour that would not get
better.
We made the decision .
I am heartbroken.We had him 8 years after he was going to be thrown in the woods.
He had no name and was grumpy and depressed ,he bonded with Mabel and grew into the most
loving bunny i have ever had .He out lived 3 mates Mabel,Molly and Milly.
He had so much time in the garden and loved to dig holes or lie under his favourite tree.
I could stroke him every where his paws ,tummy .ears etc .
Some days i would have to leave the house at 5.30 am but would get up extra early
to spend at least 30 mins with him and let him have a run round the garden.
I will miss him so much.

Oh no I'm so sorry to hear about Smokey my thoughts are with you so sad when we loose one of our fur babies xx

It sounds like he had a fantastic life with you though, think of all the great times you had together and remember the good times xx

Thanks Foofy.It was such a shock from late Friday evening to 10am Saturday morning ,
then he was gone .Still cant believe it keep heading for the back door to go and see him.
Then realise he has gone..And yes i will think of all the great times we had and what a wonderful
loving ,caring life i gave him .x

So sorry to hear you lost Smokey. It sounds like he had the most wonderful life in his 8+ years with you and his 3 wifebuns after you rescued him- think of the good times.
