THIS ENTRY IS ON BEHALF OF TAMESIDE RESCUE
This is Casper who was dumped a week ago on Tameside Rabbit and Guinea Pig rescues doorstep in a cardboard box. We estimate him being around eight weeks old.He was full of cuts, scabs and lots of hair loss due to having mange mites. He was in a lot of pain and discomfort, constantly scratching and squeaking. He was taken to the vets and is now living in foster care in an indoor environment receiving daily treatment and lots of TLC. Already within a week there has been massive improvement in his skin condition and he is less nervous around people due to lots of handling. He still has a way to go until his scabs clear and hair regrowth but we are confident on a full recovery. although he is still scratching the scabs off and squeaking in pain. He will soon be bonded with another baby to keep him company and up for rehome to an indoor environment when we are confident that it is all clear and he is more settled.

Charlie Cherub (1) by
Elizabeth Lewis, on Flickr
Hi folks
This is dear little Charlie Cherub who is currently residing at Windwhistle Warren, where this photograph was taken. Apparently, the owners of the bunnies of whom Charlie was one just let their rabbits go to fend for themselves when they were no longer wanted but, fortunately, a neighbour rescued them. Mmmmmm...... Poor little chap has suffered from glaucoma, which is extremely painful, but it has virtually healed on its own. However because the "globe" is so enlarged, he cannot close his eye so we will probably be looking to have the eye enucleated. Sweet little chap.

Thank you to Marias Animal Shelter, Tameside Rescue and Windwhistle for your entries. I will be including Windwhistle in with the November entries although they didn't submit their entry until a little late but this was due to technical difficulties with uploading photos.
The Pledge a Pound Team will soon be announcing the winner of the Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the Month for November and then opening up this thread for entries for December.

Willow is stunning and I hope she will find a suitable home when her back has healed. Casper's condition is awful- hard to believe anyone could not have noticed that before
but glad he's making an improvement. I'm sorry to hear Charlie Cherub will have to lose his eye but at least it will no longer cause him pain and hopefully he will find a suitable home when he has recovered, perhaps with a fully sighted partner?
Good luck to all this month's entries.

The Pledge a Pound Team have now chosen the winner of the Rescue Rabbit/Guinea Pig of the month and it is Casper the Guinea Pig from Tameside Rescue, he wins a £20 supermarket gift card for the Rescue to buy him something nice and I really think he deserves it.
See his story and photos below

Thank you very much. We really appreciate your kindness. Although Casper is well on the road to recovery- he still has a very deep cut on his back that he keeps scratching the scab off. We are making sure that it doesn't get infected. Good news too that he has a new friend called Kevin to keep him company until they both can be rehomed together. Again thanks for the voucher!

I have to admit, although I would have loved our Charlie Cherub to win, Casper really is a worthy and noble winner and I would have chosen him myself. Good Luck dear little chap! <3 xxx

Yes It can be very hard for the Pledge a Pound Team to choose the winner each month! Please try and enter again for December
