We have had many returned to us over the years - often its when they have lost one of a pair and the owners don't want to take on another rabbit, but don't want the remaining one to be lonely.

One of our conditions on rehoming was that the animals must never be passed on if the owners no longer wanted them, but to always return them to Hopper Haven.

Whilst it often happens at the most difficult times (like when we're full to bust) its always nice when an old friend returns, and of course now we are a sanctuary, they will stay with us for the rest of their days

I completely understand your frustration though, particularly when the owners were keen at the start etc., but at least they are coming back to you so you can ensure they are rehomed safely

How could they not bond with the bunnies after a year???? Its so unfair to take any animal and then give them back when it just becomes all too much.
