March has been a baby boom month. All the pregnant guinea pigs have now given birth. We now have the task of finding very good homes for them all, which isn't easy. Most people won't have safe accommodation for the animals to live in. It feels like a constant battle.

March we saw 19 intakes and 11 adoptions.

It has been a hive of activity at the shelter. The weather has warmed up so we have started trimming hair and bathing the guinea pigs and trying to get on top of grooming the rabbits.\

It has been a very stressful month. We are short of staff, volunteers and money and to make it worse, have a hug waiting list of animals to come in. We cannot take any more animals until we have space, so it is all a vicious circle.
Incoming animals are 15, adoptions 19 and 1 put to sleep.

A very difficult month for us. We had to deal with a hoarding case where there was 143 animals living in a 1 bedroom house. Until we actually went to the house to help a small amount of animals, we didn't know how bad the situation was and realised, as soon as we stepped into the property that we had to take all of the small animals with us. They would not have survived for very much longer.

Compared to last year, it has been a brilliant dry autumn. The rabbits are loving it. Down In Cornwall last year, it was rain every day. We have had a good adoption month, with 25 finding new families. We had 10 incoming and 3 put to sleep.

The dry weather has been much appreciated this year and in Cornwall the temperature has not been too bad. We still have a waiting list of around 50 rabbits and guinea pig but this has been growing again. We had 4 calls of animals wanting to be surrendered only a few days ago.

This month there has been 22 arrivals and 11 adoptions.

Lots of vet bills this month, especially because of our rabbit Dwain, which was a hefty bill.
We had 22 incoming animals, 14 adoptions and 5 who unfortunately had to be put to sleep.
