Marias Animal Shelter March 2023 update
You can see that spring is coming by the way some of the bunnies have begun moulting and binkying more.
We have had 16 in this month but only 8 adoptions. It is very slow still.
Our worry at the moment is the number of volunteers that we have. I think due to the living crisis, people cannot afford to give away their free time any more and we just don't have enough help now. This has put a huge strain on the remaining staff and volunteers both physically and mentally.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter April 2023 update
It is lovely to see all the wild plants growing last month and how much the animals are enjoying the dryer days with hints of the sun shining through. This month we have had 17 incoming and 18 adoptions. The waiting list has gone down but only because the animals have already gone elsewhere, hopefully somewhere good.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter May 2023 update
May has been a busy month. We have had 22 incoming, 17 adopted and 4 that unfortunately had to be put to sleep. This month we had lots of fungal guineas to dip, nails trims and health checks.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter June 2023 update
June has been a quieter month. We still have around 30 waiting to come in but because adoptions have slowed, we cannot bring in any more on the waiting list.
Last month activities were 12 incoming, 9 adoptions and 4 had to be put to sleep.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter JULY 2023 update
Another quiet month with animal activities although the actual site has been very busy with a lot of poorly animals. Our medication round has increased to approx 2 hrs in the morning and 45 mins pm. We saw 9 incoming animals and 5 adoptions.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter August 2023 update
August has been a big bill month. It seems that nearly all of our insurances come out in August. We have also had a hefty vet bill this month, which does not help matters. There has been 20 incoming animals this month and 11 adoptions. This figure was calculated up till the 19th.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter October 2023 update
It has been a hard October for us at the shelter. Lack of volunteers and animals that have been very poorly has taken its toll. At present I am not answering any calls because it is just so overwhelming to deal with.
We had 20 incoming, 22 adoptions and 4 RIP

Re: Marias Animal Shelter November 2023 update
Very sorry but we have no data as yet of the amount of animals incoming and adoptions.
We have however been very busy with two extremely poorly rabbits that required intensive treatment and care, which has taken up a lot of time with us. Fingers crossed these 2 bunnies will survive as they are slowly making improvement.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter December 2023 update
I am a month behind so I can access the correct details for 2023 statistics
Incoming animals for the year 213
Adoptions 184
Animals that we needed to put to sleep 27
Hopefully 2024 will be much better but as we already have had 56 animals in the first 3 weeks of January, i'm guessing not.

Re: Marias Animal Shelter February 2024 update
Due to the amount of animals that came in last month, we only had room for 6 animals this month, although we have around 80 waiting to come in.
Lots of health issues with the new animals as well. We have also noticed a significant rise in our vet bills.
