Rabbit Residence Rescue 2023

Post by tabithakat64 »

Hoppy 2023
Slow start for us with a waiting list of 250 plus too :(
In January we took in 21
We have managed to rehome 8
& have 66 currently on site
Sadly we’re getting 6 times less adoption enquiries at present.
We’ve also lost our water supply on site & been asked to give more back to our landlord, therefore we are looking to move to a new site more seriously than before :(

So far this year we’ve rehomed just 39 rabbits but taken in 63.
Our waiting list remains about 200/250 & we are continuing to prioritise strays & neglect cases.

Sadly sponsor bunny, Minstrels has recently been diagnosed with advanced liver disease & little Ivars mobility continues to worsen :(

Ex-T&S farm bunnies Daz who has brain damage & his new wife & also ex T&S farm bunny, Fairy have now joined our sponsor scheme

Rather depressing stats for the 1st 6 months of the year, 71 rabbits taken in but only 46 rehomed :(

In good news we recently rehomed one of our trips of ex-T&S meat farm rabbits to a lovely home. Sad news tripod bunny Flower has developed severe headtilt.

We’ve also had to shut our waiting list s we cannot even keep up with the number of strays & neglect cases at present

Amazing news we’ve now rehomed 107 rabbits since the start of 2023, largely thanks to Molly for helping with bonds but also some harder to home pairs including Sox, Hex & Mia who have spent 3 years in rescue.

We’ve taken in 116 rabbits so far in 2023.

Flower has now completely recovered from her head tilt but sadly fellow sponsor bunnies Bruno & Jess have had surgery on dental abscesses
