Beloved Rabbits October Update

This month we took in 8 surrendered rabbits, saw 14 go to their forever homes, and sadly had an additional 41 requests for a total of 78 rabbits added to our waiting list. We usually see an increase in rehoming requests at this time of year, and the impact of the rabbit welfare crisis is more evident than ever when you look at the number of requests we've had over recent weeks.

However, despite this we are still lucky to be enjoying a good success rate with our adoptions and currently have 19 rabbits reserved, and we'll arrange for them to be adopted as soon as they're ready to leave. Last night was a particularly good night with 4 bunnies hopping off to new homes!

We are also still in the midst of organising our annual volunteer get together, the Hop Huddle, and amongst other things have arranged talks from exotic specialists on various aspects of rabbit care and welfare, which we are all looking forward to. We have also started planning our Christmas Campaign so will share more details of this in the next update!

I've attached a photo of the beautiful Cloud, who was surrendered to us after her bonded buddy sadly passed away. She was adopted last night and we are so happy for her! We'll keep in touch with her adopter to support her through the bonding process until she's settled with her new companion.
