Marias Animal Shelter update Jan 2021

Post by MariasAnimalShelter »

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope that 2021 turns out better than the previous year. It was a tough year and I have a feeling it will carry on for the next few months. We were going to do a big shout out for volunteers in January because our workload has been hard to get through daily, with a minimum of help. After having discussions regarding the virus we have decided to try and carry on as we are. There are only 3-4 in daily to look after 100 animals. A few of them need syringe feeding a few times a day, which usually takes around 20 mins a time. Our medicating round is usually 2hrs, sometimes 3 if there is only 1 person administering. I really do hope things improve for all the rescues as I know this problem is the same for all.
Last year we have managed to help around 250 animals.
