Marias Animal Shelter November 20 update

It has been a busy month and the phone has not stopped ringing. We have had 18 animals in and 14 adopted.
Slowly, as the month has gone on we are having volunteers leave us for one reason or another. This has left us very short of help. I hope things will pick up as we cannot carry on long like it.
Our new rabbit building has been completed. This 2 room building is dedicated to elderly or palliative care bunnies.It is spacious, has heat pads and igloos to keep warm in, as well as ramps going up to the window where they can view the world around them. Harvey (who recently won PAP animal of the month) has moved in there with his girlfriend Thelma and is loving it. We can monitor him there. There is a table to carry on assist feeding him as well as scales to weigh daily. It is a worry because we know the cold is coming but we hope the heat pads will keep the rabbits warm in there. Toffee our elderly 17 year old bunny loves his kitten heat pad and happily eats in there as well.
