In October we took in 26 surrendered rabbits, but 31 hopped off to their forever homes, which is always lovely to see. Sadly our waiting list is rapidly expanding and this month alone we've seen requests for space for 30+ rabbits, and we expect the demand for space will only increase as we head into the winter months.
We mentioned last month that we're recruiting for a number of new roles within the charity, and we're delighted to say that we've just taken our existing volunteer Rachel on board as Fundraising Manager. Fundraising is one of the most crucial roles within any rescue and we're really excited about some of her ideas! Our new Adoption Coordinator Rebecca is also proving to be a great fit and we're so grateful to have such a dedicated volunteer team.
We had also shared the story of our lovely Lumi, who entered the rescue with a litter of newborn kits and already pregnant again. We couldn't be more proud of her for being such a loving and attentive mum to 8 healthy kits, most of whom have been reserved for adoption. We're so pleased that Lumi has also been reserved, and she'll be going to live the life she deserves as a very spoiled bunny as soon as she's ready.
Finally, we're working hard to come up with ideas to mark our upcoming 10 year anniversary, so will keep you posted on that - even though it's looking more and more likely that the celebrations will have to be digital!
