Marias Animal Shelter September 2020 update

Post by MariasAnimalShelter »

I hope all the rescues are coping well in these tough times. It is a struggle. It has still been busy regarding adoptions but we still struggle with people buying the wrong type of house and even dangerous houses for rabbits and guinea pigs. This month again we have had 9 guinea pigs come in, in A1 condition or so the old family said. All bar 1 are poorly and have been costing us a lot of money with UTI's, parasites, fungal, ovarian cysts, kidney stones and one with kidney failure and blind. It is so sad that people either don't recognise their pet is poorly or choose to ignore it and I think the latter goes to these poor pigs. :((
