Rabbit Residence Rescue 2021

Post by tabithakat64 »

So far this year we’ve already taken in 23 rabbits :( we have a further 50 currently on our waiting list, it’s just overwhelming as we’re struggling to rehome due to Covid restrictions.

We have rehomed 5 rabbits so far this year and have a further 15 reserved though!

Our January 2021 figures are 19 rehomed, 27 new intakes. Very sadly this month we have lost three of our elderly long term residents, Pollyanna, Daisy & Greg.

Out of the 19 we rehomed was both of our quads which is truly amazing as it is so difficult to find homes that are spacious enough for groups of rabbits and also owners willing to commit to the care needed for a group of rabbits.

This month we will have 22 rabbits taken in, 14 rabbits rehomed & 20 rabbits on the waiting list.

Sadly we’re seeing lots of surrenders of rabbits purchased during lockdown this month & more strays.

This month we lost long term resident, Delta to cancer :( (aged 12) as well as 12 year old respiratory bunny & fellow long termer, Wondar. Both will be very much missed by our team as well as their husbuns, Scamper and Marcel

Heartbreakingly we lost two older foes who came to us unspayed to uterine cancer which had spread to other organs this month.

Unnecessary deaths, easily prevented by neutering female rabbits.

We’ve also had 11 half wild babies born to two rabbits we took in as strays.

We have Rehomed 62 rabbits so far this year and taken in 76

So far this year we’ve rehomed 82 rabbits & taken in 84 rabbits in need, including 11 half wild babies born to two stray does brought into the rescue.

Sadly we said goodbye to sponsor bunny, Pod this month after her mobility & respiratory issues became unmanageable despite treatment :(

June has been an overwhelming month for us with just two out of almost two hundred adoption enquiries being approved for rehoming.

We currently have 95 rabbits on the waiting list 💔 but rehomed just 5 & were only able to take in 7 due to lack of space & funds.
