Ringo - collie - Surrey REHOMED
Posted: 04 Aug 2015 15:51
Ringo the Border Collie is 4 years old and is looking for a home.
He originally came to us as a puppy, but does have a nervous streak and has grown to not be confident around children, hence why he was returned.
We are looking for an adult only home for him and with an adult handler, he is a very sweet and affectionate boy.
Ringo loves his walks and his recall is perfect. He does like to find stones to carry around, but have swapped this habit for a ball and he seems to be just as happy with that!
He ignores people and other dogs when he is out and about.
Ringo could live with a spayed and calm bitch and would also be happy as an only dog. He would need to be fed separately from another dog as he will guard his food from other dogs (not from people).
He is fully housetrained and is not destructive.
He can be left for short periods of time on his own, but likes his routine and must have a decent walk every day.
Ringo cannot live with cats.
Ringo would suit a quite and calm home (maybe a retired person/couple), but someone who can read a dog and know when he is having a nervy moment and leave him to it. For example, he does not like being grabbed by the collar and to calm him down, asking him to sit makes him focus on you and chill out.
He is a good house dog, but can be misunderstood, but once you know his ways, he makes a lovely and loyal pet.
Ringo has been castrated, microchipped, fully vaccinated, wormed and flea treated.
A homecheck will be required and a minimum adoption fee of £150 applies.
