URGENT PLEASE SHARE WITH HORSEY FRIENDS.
my beautiful thoroughbred mare died in the early hours of the morning giving birth to this gorgeous foal. I don't have a stallion and know of none nearby we didn't even know she was pregnant, she was 25.
If anyone knows of a potential foster mare in reasonable distance from Kent please PM me, otherwise I don't think he will survive. Thank you.

I know nothing about horses but I saw this on facebook- If anyone can help (rescues or otherwise) please contact this lady via facebook- if you have no facebook please pm me and I will get my daughter bunlover to put you in touch with the lady concerned.

Hi Sue,

Would there be any chance you could direct the poster to:-

https://www.facebook.com/pages/National ... 1815233911

This is a national service aimed at united orphans with mares that have lost foals x

Thanks - beautiful foal :-)

PS - it is possible for foals to be hand reared, my Apache was attacked by his mother when he was about 12 hours old, and damaged quite badly, he was then hand reared.

I hought you would all like to know how the foal is doing....

9th Sept -
the foal made it through the night with hourly feeds. :)

What is this green stuff? A little venture outdoors this morning for the little man.

At one week old the foal is doing amazingly well, my little old welsh mountain (around 40 years old) has taken it upon herself to look out for him, she hasn't left his stable door since the first night (she was best friends with his mum), I think Auntie Melody has volunteered herself the job!
Thank you for all offers of foster mares near and far, time constraints unfortunately have restricted me into following many of them up! I will try to reply to all messages in due course but I think as he's happy and she's 200% this seems the natural solution, so the bottle feeding will continue but hopefully he will get the horsey company he so needs x
