Buttercup and Bart - disabled rabbit and companion - SURREY

This is Buttercup (left) and her partner, Bart (Netherland Dwarf). They have come to us through no fault of their own.

Buttercup was originally adopted from us when she was a 5 month old baby and was part of an accidental litter. She was paired up with Bart, who is blind in one eye. Bart was from a breeder and has been blind from birth. He has been seen by a vet and although he has this disability, is still a happy little soul who loves his wife.

Buttercup loves attention and loves people.

Bart was born 23/09/11 and Buttercup was born Sep 2010.

Both are neutered, vaccinated, wormed and vet checked.

There is a minimum adoption fee of £35 per rabbit.

What gorgeous bunnies- I do hope they will find a forever home soon. Bunnies with sight problems do manage very well, especially with a sighted partner.

Such beautiful rabbits.

I don't think Bart's disability (being blind in one eye) would be difficult to manage, especially as he has a sighted bunny partner, Buttercup.. I have a (now single)bun Coco who is partially sighted in both eyes but he leads a normal life with few adjustments.

i)We make sure major items stay in the same place so he doesn't bump into them

ii)We rattle a beaker when we feed him

iii) We speak as we approach him and stroke his head when we reach him.

I do hope Bart's sight problem won't put people off and I hope they find their forever home soon.

I would consider taking the word "disabled" off the title as it might put people off - they may think they couldn't cope and not even look at the post to read about the disability ?. ...they can read about the sight problem after they see the sweet faces and may think...actually, that's something we could manage?

When I saw disabled I must admit I thought perhaps it was a 3 legged bunny ( I have looked after one of those and actually they get along very well).
I think it's easier for a bunny who has had a disability from birth as they don't know any different and they do seem to cope as normal with few adjustments needed to be made for them.
Can anyone consider giving a home to Buttercup and Bart?.
