Lola is a 5.5 year old guinea pig, mother to 2 we lost recently due to suspected heart conditions.
Lola started bleeding from her rear yesterday and after a vet consultation, we were unsure if it was a pyometra or cystitis. She was given antibiotics and pain relief and the vet said if she was no better the next day it was probably a pyo. This morning there was more pusy blood and she was spayed this afternoon.
She came through the op but is very wobbly, cold and sad, she has a snuggle pad and has had her meds and I will monitor her through the night but I am worried she will be gone by the morning.
Lola is very poorly.

I am relieved to say she is still with us, very flat and not interested in food but alive. It's been an exhausting night.

She passed away about an hour ago, just before the vet arrived to re-examine her.
