Halfpenny update.

Sorry for another late update, it’s been a bit of a slog with winter setting in. We’ve been plodding along as usual, not really able to take in more animals at the moment as we are full. I’ve massively dropped my hours at the vet as Mike now has his pension and we can live off it. We had an awful ti...

Belated update from Halfpenny.

Sorry I’ve not been on for a while, I haven’t had the heart to post as we’ve had a difficult time. We had to say goodbye to Corrie, our 15 year old collie, Treelo our teenage sheep and Scarlet out 13 year old pig. We also lost Oor Willie, the guinea pig with heart failure and Magpie, a guinea pig wh...

Re: July 2021 donations

Hello, thank you so much. I did post a thank you on the Facebook page but forgot to come over here! Many thanks again. It will help towards vaccinating and neutering a new bunny who came in a few weeks ago.

Re: June - Summer fundraiser 2021

Wow, another incredible amount, thank you so much.
This will help with our vet bills.
We just took in a wild rabbit who has been captive for a year, from being a baby taken home by the cats.
Small, dirty cage, not neutered or vaccinated, so a few vet bills to get the bunny fully covered.
Thank you.

Halfpenny June update.

It’s been another busy month and we have been inundated with requests to take animals. Sadly we had to turn away 6 guinea pigs, 11 rabbits, a cat, a dog and a horse. We took in 2 female ferrets who were dumped in a terrible state, either they have been left too long in season or they have adrenal di...

Halfpenny may update.

Another month gone and finally the weather has started to warm up. Our swallows were over a week late in arriving which is quite scary I think. It’s been a busy month, although we haven’t been asked to take in too many animals, thankfully. We have taken in a skinny pig we have called Little Clanger,...

Halfpenny update.

Hi, sorry for the radio silence, it’s been a struggle recently with the weather finally seeming to improve and the ice disappearing a month or so ago after many cold mornings, frozen hoses and ice or thick mud in the fields/ yard. We had a fantastic few weeks where it was warm, breezy which meant th...

Re: January 2021 monthly donations

Oh wow, that’s amazing, thank you all so much.
This is very much appreciated as we have had a big drop in donations since Christmas, and having a few sickly bunnies and having taken in the new dental girl, Dusty, this will help a lot! Thank you again.

Re: Christmas 2020 fundraiser

Hi, yes sorry. I posted a separate update thanking you for the donation as it will pay towards our latest intake. An 8 month old girl with serious dental issues already, and of course, she’s not been neutered or vaccinated either!

A quick update.

Much as we are trying to limit intakes we have 2 emergencies who have arrived since Christmas. One was an elderly cat whose owner passed away and the other arrived today- a young girl rabbit aged 8 months. She has severe dental disease and her owner cannot afford the bills. As usual 8 months old but...
